Another house

We looked at another house yesterday that we liked. It is 2424 square feet and 3 bedrooms plus a den. that doesn't sound like enough bedrooms, but one of the bedrooms is like 20 by 11, and the other one is maybe 17 by 12, and they both have really huge, nice closets. I'm just guessing on those measurements, but they are really big. The one bedroom could potentially be turned into 2 separate bedrooms at some point, and the den could pretty easily be enclosed, so the house actually has potential for 5 bedrooms. The backyard is pretty small, but does have a pool, which we would have to fence. The other side of the yard has a bunch of concrete that we would have to tear up to put in a little swingset. It seems like every single house we look at has a fireplace, so maybe we are destined to have one. Here are some pictures.

Extremely large bedroom.

Other large bedroom. The closets have 3 doors.

Storage area in the hall.

One side of kitchen--built in desk and extra tall cupboards. Also straight ahead is the den.

Small yard, showing the unfortunate area with all of the concrete.

pool.

Side of house/yard.

Master bedroom with private exit to enclosed patio.

.

Master closet. We really liked the high shelves, and it had lots of storage space. Unfortunately, the entire closet, bathroom, and master bedroom are all painted a light plum color...

The patio is fully enclosed and air conditioned.

Laundry room, standard size but does have some nice built in cabinets.

Den. I didn't get a picture from the angle that shows this, but it has lots of builtin shelves. The window is looking out at the front porch.

Okay, somehow I didn't take any pictures of either the living room or family room, but they are nice except for the stinkin fireplace in the family room. We live in the desert. A fireplace is useless. Here are some pictures of said rooms that I took off of a website.
Fireplace, and a weird little built in thing.

Front room, windows to enclosed patio.

One other bad thing--this was a foreclosure, and the owners took everything--all appliances, ceiling fans, blinds, and even some doorknobs.
Anyway, we quite liked the layout. Any thoughts?

houses--which one do you like??

Both houses have some awesome features, but are totally different. They each have 4 bedrooms and are around 2450 sq. feet.

House number one. This 2 story house has an amazing backyard. Every mom and kid's dream yard. The kitchen is not awesome, but it is okay. It has a 3 car garage, a bedroom on the main floor, and 3 upstairs. The master bedroom is huge and has a great view of the yard. The paint is terrible, but can obviously be fixed. At some point I would want to try and upgrade the kitchen.

kitchen--the yellow paint looks horrible with the cabinets and island--it would have to go. Does have room for a table.

Family room, decent paint
backyard--fenced pool with spa, firepit, and plenty of grass. I also LOVE that it has lots of cement--the kids could ride their bikes around. The grass is also rimmed with a sidewalk.

Okay, you get that I love the yard. The garage has built in storage and a soft water thingy.

downstairs bedroom. brown on three walls, garish yellow on fourth that is also sloppily done.
cabinets at the top of the stairs, master bedroom is to the left.

view out master bedroom...
kind of cute window in master bedroom.
girls bedroom
boys room. the paint is atrocious, both in color and application.
front entryway, which I think is pretty cute and I like the front window.
House number two. This 1 story home is absolutely beautiful and move-in ready. It has 10 foot ceilings, a gorgeous, large kitchen with granite counters and a bay window. Has really nice tile throughout and a nice laundry room. Backyard has beautiful view, but is not landscaped. It has two patios.
cute outside

park right across the street, this was taken from the driveway.

Extensive cabinets and built in desk.
asesome island and stainless steel appliances.
breathtaking views with view fence, and no neighbors.

view of the back of the house.
side patio off of dining room
really nice master closet, so-so master bedroom.
cool tile in the master bath.
front living room...where post is could potentially turn into playroom/den/bedroom, whatever.
Dining room with french doors to side patio, which would get afternoon shade.
pretty decent laundry room with window, and cupboards.
breakfast nook with bay window.
view of front doorway, with exposed beams.
close up of ceiling and exposed beams.
other view of island, with lots of room and cupboards.
built in speakers everywhere.
